KS... I agree with you, life is multiple shades of grey -not black and white. The quote uses binary logic. I'm simply using a WT quote to combat WT logic. Sure, it's contradictory, but that's how JWs think.

Old "Light" Cannot Be Right - Interesting Quote from Watchtower
by Darth Rutherford incame across this quote from w64 2/15 p.101:.
"when a belief is not correct but is wrong, then it cannot be right at the same time.
the most sincere belief and practice of that belief will not change it from being wrong into being right.

Came across this quote from w64 2/15 p.101:
"When a belief is not correct but is wrong, then it cannot be right at the same time. The most sincere belief and practice of that belief will not change it from being wrong into being right. Nor will it become acceptable to God as truth, since he does not take pleasure in falsehood."
I honestly can't argue with The Watchtower here! However, this quote might help the thinking JW (few that they are) see that "old light" really is falsehood. When WT teaches something that gets revised, like the recent change in the FDS for example, then it means that for the many decades the "old view" was taught, WT was really teaching falsehood. And... as the quote concludes: God "does not take pleasure in falsehood."
Old Light = Darkness. No matter how sincere a JW's belief is, he was teaching a falsehood. That makes him/her a false teacher.
Reminds me of something the apostle Peter said, "However, there also came to be false prophets among the people, as there will also be false teachers among you. These very ones will quietly bring in destructive sects and will disown even the owner that bought them, bringing speedy destruction upon themselves." -2 Peter 2:1.

Powerful questions to DEBUNK the flood of Noah's day
by Black Man injust like in another thread a saw, the best way to deal with my jws is not debating or arguing, but instead posing questions for them to answer or not answer.
i want to come up with specific questions relating to the 'global flood' that completely debunk it.
what say you, jw.net?.

I love that they say the flood was so powerful that it carved out the Grand Canyon. Explain to me, then, how the Euphrates River (mentioned before the flood at Genesis 1:14) stayed intact?!

IF cornered, what 2 or 3 examples of error in JW teaching would you point out?
by undercover injust curious about this.
if - if you were cornered by elders or family or even an outsider who was curious, what two or three things would you use to point out why you no longer accept "the truthtm"?
(an exercise, not a factual situation).

Ask them 3 simple questions:
1) Do Jehovah's Witnesses conduct their work on the basis of Christ's name... as "Christians" following Christ's work? [They'll reply 'yes']
2) Do Jehovah's Witnesses believe they are lead by those 'anointed' by God, and that the organization as a whole is the only one God has chosen and is using to draw people to salvation? [They'll reply 'yes']
3) Do Jehovah's Witnesses believe the we are in the last days and the due time has approached for Jesus' words at Matthew 24, Luke 21, and Mark 13 to be fulfilled? [They'll reply 'yes']
Then take them to Luke 21:8: "He said: 'Look out that YOU are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The due time has approached.’ Do not go after them.'"
Ask them to explain, then, how the WTBTS is exempt from Jesus' description of those we should not follow.

Request a Free Bible Study
by Darth Rutherford ini couldn't help but think... what if we all start requesting free bible studies?
except, of course, send them on wild goose chases?
send them on bogus trips around the territory?.
-

Not sure how it would backfire unless I give them my own address. LOL!
Well... it was just a mischievous/juvenile idea. Something to have a chuckle over.
...You know, how many requests do you think they get from "Sparlock", or "Warrior Wizard"? Ha!
Everyone have a great day!!!

New York just forwards those addresses to the local congregation... who then have the task of tracking it down.
We could send all the study requests to the local McDonald's or Starbucks... but they already know those addresses! Or give them addresses of those we know who won't put up with the BS at the door. I know a few who would love to chew out a Witness if they come knocking at their door. Send them to the bad parts of town, etc...
Or... I think it would be fun knowing their spending their morning looking for houses out in the country that aren't there. Like snipe hunting. LOL!
It just seems like a golden opportunity to turn their little request-system upside down.

If she agrees, does this change anything about the verdict? Will WT still have this blemish on their record?

Not sure... could it be this one?
(Leviticus
19:32) “‘Before gray hair you should rise up, and you must show consideration for the person of an old man, and you must be in fear of your God. I am Jehovah.
